An Analysis of Woodpecker Features
Follow-up Automation
Woodpecker enables users to follow-up inbound and outbound leads.
The system allows users to use two follow-up paths to send messages depending on specific criteria. Users can set up a ‘condition’ that triggers the next follow-up message for email marketing campaigns.
This way, users don’t have to manually send follow-up messages, that entire process is automated by the system.
Woodpecker also ensures that the follow-up messages are within the same thread so that prospects always have the full context. This is super helpful so that prospects’ inboxes aren’t filled with new emails from you.
Instead, they can follow the progression of the emails you send in one thread.
Users can set up a sequence that has up to 7 follow-ups. This sequence can be adjusted to a specific timezone and the schedule is customizable.
Users can also specify the number of emails that are sent on a daily basis. If you prefer, you can also schedule the campaign according to a prospect’s timezone.
Once all prospects have received the emails or as soon as they reply, Woodpecker immediately stops follow-up emails from being sent.
This is a very efficient way to ensure that the follow-up messages only go to unresponsive prospects.
Human-Like Sending
Woodpecker allows users to connect their own email addresses for their campaigns.
This is very important because having your real name in an email can impact how personal an email is perceived by a prospect.
Before starting a campaign, Woodpecker offers you four options to use to connect your email account.
I personally prefer connecting my GSuite account, so I chose to use Google. After that, it was easy for me to connect to my “pearllemon.com” email that is used for all email outreach campaigns.
Keep in mind that you can also set up aliases and connect as many email addresses as you prefer.
There is flexibility when it comes to this, but it’s best to have an email address that doesn’t give off ‘spammy’ vibes.
Once your email is verified and connected, you can add a customized signature that will appear in all the emails you send.
This is how the information looks like after all this:
It’s pretty neat that you can also cc or bcc relevant contacts (like your boss or supervisor) to each email campaign.
Just a quick segway here, the interface is so user-friendly. It is also aesthetically pleasing when you scroll through the whole campaign feature.
This makes the creation of email marketing campaigns feel less stressful (just an illusion, but I digress).
Users can personalize their messages and follow-up messages with great ease.
It’s all very easy to navigate and it works well for those who are new to cold emailing.
Teamwork
For sales teams that manage multiple campaigns at the same time, this feature will come in handy.
The prospect base ensures that team members do not contact the same prospects. You’ll get notified if a contact has been used more than once to avoid unnecessary miscommunication.
This is important because all prospects are stored in one place and sales teams can keep track of who has or hasn’t been contacted.
On top of this, the Teamwork feature enables all team members to see and track all campaigns. Using the Team view, users can see which campaigns are the most effective.
As a sales team grows, members can easily add new users to the team account.
It takes just a few steps to do this and it’s really helpful when the team is continuously growing.
Statistics
Users get to analyze the success of their campaigns using the detailed statistics Woodpecker provides.
Here are the available stats that users can track:
- Open rates
- Reply rates
- Rate of positive replies
- Number of link clicks
- Bounce rates
All this information in one dashboard makes it easy for sales professionals to improve their campaigns. These statistics are also great determinants of the success of an email marketing campaign.
Team members can have access to all running campaigns to monitor the overall performance.
This way, the best performing campaigns can be used to improve the rest that are not yielding the desired results.
Security
Woodpecker’s security features ensure that your email address is protected when you are running your email marketing campaigns.
You can also use this feature to make sure that your contact information is verified. This saves a lot of energy because it is wasteful to send emails to non-existent recipients.
Verifying email addresses can be difficult to do on your own. Woodpecker supports users so that they know which email addresses are legit and which ones are not.
With this feature, users can also make sure that they don’t send the same campaign to one person twice. It can be quite frustrating when this happens!
Users can also blacklist contacts that have already received the same campaign. This can also be done for current customers who definitely shouldn’t receive marketing emails for a service they’re already using!
