Virtual Internships was a client of ours that came to us for our cold calling services. They are a company that had approached us because they were looking to expand the number of companies that they could offer their internship placements to. Additionally, they’d recently raised two and a half million dollars in funding.
And yet virtual internships are a company that we began ultimately doing business with. We ended up cold calling ten unique contacts of over 900 key decision makers within their targeting through the campaign. As this was a graduate recruitment, cold calling campaign, we were calling businesses in and around the UK and Europe in various segments to ultimately offer interns that were of no cost to the business.
Calling for this client made it both an exciting but also very unique and interesting campaign. One of the interesting challenges with this campaign was that there was always a roving requirement in terms of who would be targeted. We had to be on our toes and ready to switch because we would call engineering companies for a few days and then switch to law firms and then change again to get coverage across as many of their desired targets as possible.
Cognitively the switches that we made when we were cold calling into law firms such as watching Case or Freshfields or any of the Magic Circle law firms to engineers. Sometimes we would encounter someone working in an actual workshop versus engineering, architecture and design firms is quite interesting.
This was a great cold calling campaign. We also had numerous WhatsApp chats running to manage the project. One being the main client chat to discuss the campaign with the client directly. There was another chat that was used for all of our internal conversations as well. One last chat, well a few for this situation, was also individual chats that handled discussions that would fall outside of either of the two main chats.
It was a really good campaign. We ended up getting a good amount of bookings for the client along with numerous additional leads asking to be contacted later. Our communications also translated over into email trails. We sent weekly reports with all the booking and lead statistics. Additionally, we had email trails that explained the startup of the campaign and some exchanges through the length of the campaign.
We expanded into numerous other niches as well. We called companies that operated within the healthcare field and got appointments booked with these companies as well. Decision makers were a bit difficult to get ahold of, yet we persisted and were able to secure bookings for our client.
